3.1. Also before bathing you
need to clean your dog's ears. Any hair inside the ears should be removed. After
that use a cotton ball and q-tips to clean inside the ears. Note: Make
sure you are careful cleaning inside of the ears so not to hurt your dog. You
may use any
over the counter ears cleaning solution or use rubbing
alcohol.
NOTE: If you have a pet yorkie it is good to trim the anal area of your pet, it
keeps it cleaner. Clip it with a small clipper, such as "wahl peanut "clipper or
a finishing clipper. Also for males you can trim under the belly right in front
of their "stuff", and keep that area powdered . Baby powder with
cornstarch is good.
4.Bathe your dog in warm water , using a premium shampoo. I like petsilk.
Another good option is baby shampoo, and with the baby shampoo you will be able
to clean around the face without irritating your dog's eyes. Be sure not to let
water inside your pet's ears. Rinse well and repeat. After the shampoo is all
washed out of the coat apply a conditioner and rinse well.
5.Towel dry the excess water. Always blow dry your yorkie. I use a professional
blow dryer as it has setting that make the temperature not too hot. If you use a
regular dryer make sure it has a cooler setting so you don't burn your dog. You
should gently brush your dog's hair as it dries.
6. I like to then put their hair on a top knot with a beautiful bow.

7.
To keep your yorkie in a longer coat you can use a "freezease" kind of product,
it will look shinny and protect the coat.
8. These are basic grooming things that I do to keep my yorkies clean, happy,
healthy and SUPERIOR!! There is more to do if you are going to show your
yorkie. With time I will update this page with more tips!!
